It may seem too early but winter has begun! Make the most out of it at Westown at Wilson!

There is always plenty of activities to do in Grand Rapids during the season of snow! Watching a performance at the Civic Theater, ice skating at Rosa Parks Circle, visiting the array of museums downtown or even catching a concert. You will always find something fun to do downtown which is only a short 10 minute drive. We are located right along the Rapid bus line if you don’t like driving in the snow!

Explore the surrounding area and all that is has to offer on a Saturday afternoon! Whether you are taking your bicycle for a spin on the trail in Standale, or grabbing a quick lunch across the street, you’ll always have something to do in walking distance of your home! When you want to explore the city, enjoy all the excitement of downtown Grand Rapids with only a quick 8-10 minute drive!

Endless Summer

As summer comes closer to an end the weather continues to be beautiful everyday! Enjoy the last good weeks of warm weather and explore all the great outdoor activities in Grand Rapids. Whether you prefer kayaking at Millennium Park, running on the Standale Meijer trail, our walking the blue bridge downtown, there’s always a great way to enjoy the outdoors!

Although you might be itching for fall, don’t put away your bathing suit just yet! Make sure to soak up as much sun as you can and utilize all that Grand Rapids has to offer.

Grand Rapids Summer Fun!

The weather is warming up and it’s finally feeling like summertime here in Michigan! Whether celebrating the 4th of July, or hanging with your favorite four-legged friend, there’s something for everyone to do around town this summer! See below for a list of events that we are most excited about!

Allendale 4th of July Parade – Taking place on July 4th, the 10 am parade runs through the Grand Valley State University campus and is followed by a chicken BBQ fundraiser, auto show, critter barn, museum tours and fireworks.

Amway Family Fireworks; the event kicks off at 5:00 pm on Saturday, July 6th in downtown’s Ah-Nab-Awen Park

City of Walker Parks & Rec Night at Walker Community Park; Free evening of fun on July 11th featuring drop-in kickball and soccer, raffles, crafts, food, and more!

Downtown Grand Rapids Dog Park – This pop-up dog park is located across the street from Founders Brewery. The perfect place to enjoy the great weather and meet new friends – human and furry!

Food Truck Fridays at Riverside Park – Choose from a variety of local food trucks! Begins every Friday at 5pm

Jazz in the Park – Sit back and enjoy a night of free Jazz. Monday nights at Millennium Park, starting at 6:30pm

Movies On Monroe – Enjoy a night of FREE outdoor movie showings while sitting on the banks of the Grand River. BYOB or choose from a variety of food truck vendors. Dates run through August. Follow the link for more information!

Rock, Roar and Pour at John Ball Zoo – For adults 21 and over, enjoy food and adult beverages while seeing the zoo like never before! Dates run through September. Follow the link for more information!

Springtime in Grand Rapids

Spring is an exciting time in Grand Rapids! The Michigan weather is finally getting warmer, and many events are underway! One of our favorites is coming up on May 11th – the Amway River Bank Run! The largest 25k road race in the country is now in its 42nd year. With more than 16,000 people expected to participate, it is sure to be an exciting time. If watching rather than participating in sports is more your thing, the West Michigan Whitecaps season is now underway! Plus, the Grand Rapids Football Club kicks off their season at Houseman Field on May 4th.
